Annual Summer Seminar 2026
With Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche
June 10 - 15, 2026
Our deeply kind and wise teacher, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, will once again grace us with teachings on the complete Buddhist path—from the foundational view and conduct to the most profound meditation instructions of the Vajrayana. Renowned for his ability to make the deepest Dharma vivid and accessible, Rinpoche draws students from around the world to receive this living transmission. Together we will also engage in the Ocean of Amrita puja for the mending of Vajrayana commitments, all within Gomde California’s forested mountain retreat setting—a perfect environment for this special and immersive summer gathering.
Dates
Check-in for the program will begin on June 10th at 3:00 pm, followed by dinner and a welcome orientation. Rinpoche will enter the Buddha Hall the morning of June 11th and the program will continue through the morning of June 15th.

For those attending the Full Program, the following accommodation options are available:
- Deluxe Tent Cabins (with option to add a second person)
- Single Basic Tent with Bed
- Camping
- Off-site accommodations

Work-Exchange and Scholarships
Running and developing a retreat center of Gomde California’s size (approximately 275 acres) requires a great deal of work and generous financial support. Despite the center’s significant operating costs, Gomde is committed to creating opportunities for everyone to connect with and study the authentic Dharma. To support this aim, we offer several Work-Exchange and Scholarship opportunities for sangha members who wish to attend teachings at a significantly discounted rate.

Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche is a world-renowned teacher and meditation master in the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. He was born in Tibet in 1951 as the oldest son of his mother Kunsang Dechen, a devoted Buddhist practitioner, and his father Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, an accomplished master of Buddhist meditation. As a young child, Chokyi Nyima—“Sun of the Dharma”—was recognized as the 7th incarnation of the Tibetan meditation master Gar Drubchen.
