In this weekend retreat, Lama Bruce Newman will help us uncover our innate capacity for healing. Using Tulku Thondup’s book, Boundless Healing, Lama Bruce will guide us through profound meditations on the Medicine Buddha that nurture both health and liberation. This retreat will benefit anyone interested in healing as a means for self-transformation.
Please join us for this weekend of teaching and practice so that you can learn practices that will improve health and bring comfort during times of illness and mental distress.
This retreat is open to people of all backgrounds and levels of experience, no previous exposure to Tibetan Buddhism is necessary. Reviewing the book ahead of time is recommended. The book can be purchased online here or here.
Lama Bruce Newman is leading this retreat via Zoom, and will integrate teaching, practice, and opportunities for Q&A. On Saturday and Sunday, the morning session will run from approximately 10:00 to 12:30 am PT with breaks, and the afternoon session from 2:30 to 5:00 pm PT with breaks.
Suggested Price of $108 (sliding scale)
Gomde California is providing this program on a sliding scale, allowing all who are interested to join at the level they are able. We suggest giving $108 if possible, to help us cover the center’s program and operational costs. - A Zoom link to access the retreat will by email 24 hours, and 1 hour, prior to the program start.
- We will be using the Zoom platform for the entire retreat
- The teachings will be recorded and made available to participants afterwards. An email will be sent out when the recordings are available.
- You can view the program at a time that is convenient for you. You are not required to join the live sessions.

Lama Bruce Newman has studied and practiced Tibetan Buddhism for 44 years, and has been teaching for 24 years, primarily in the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions. He spent eleven years in India and Nepal studying under his primary teacher, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche. Lama Newman also completed a four-year retreat at Kagyu Samye Ling in Scotland. For over two decades Lama Bruce has been practicing and teaching under the guidance of Gyatrul Rinpoche in Ashland, Oregon.
