Intermediate Classical Tibetan Summer Intensive 2018
We are now accepting applications for the Dharmachakra School of Translation’s 2018 Intermediate Classical Tibetan Intensive Summer program.
Our program is designed to provide intermediate-level training in written, classical Tibetan, and advance students’ ability in the art of textual translation. It is open to students with one or more years of formal study of the classical Tibetan in either an academic or traditional context.
Through our partnership with Kathmandu University’s Centre for Buddhist Studies at the Rangjung Yeshe Institute we are pleased to offer internationally-recognized academic credit to students who successfully complete our program.
Our program has drawn students from all major lineages of Tibetan Buddhism and has attracted graduate students from Yale University, the University of Chicago, Emory University, and UC Berkeley.

The Dharmachakra Translation Center was founded in 2011 with the mission of establishing the translation of Buddhist texts as a core activity at Rangjung Yeshe Gomde California. Inspired by the great importance Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche has placed on translation, the Center is dedicated to translating the words of the Buddha and Buddhist masters, training future translators, and encouraging dialogue between the traditional and academic scholars of Buddhist studies.
