14th Annual Winter Vajrasattva Retreat 2024

January 4 - 11, 2024
Onsite at Gomde California
Gomde’s Annual New Year’s retreat focuses on the deity Vajrasattva—an expression of the ultimate purity of our intrinsic nature. Vajrasattva is the essence of all the Buddhas, so all deities are included within this single deity and all practices within this one sadhana. When you practice this short liturgy of Vajrasattva, it is as if you practice every sadhana of every deity. This profound practice of the Sangtik Dorsem was revealed by the great master, Chokgyur Lingpa, as part of the Sangtik cycle of instruction. It purifies the afflictions that arise due to our past negative actions, clears our mental obscurations, and reveals our stainless essence,…

Our upcoming weekend retreat will be an opportunity to put his instructions into practice. The Tukdrub Barche Kunsel Guru Rinpoche empowerment is not required to attend this retreat, but it is required if one wishes to make the Trinley Nyingpo their daily practice. Please note that this empowerment was offered by Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche…

Awakening Dignity with Lama Bruce Newman

With Lama Bruce Newman

April 19 - 21, 2024
Gomde California
Awakening Dignity The notion of dignity is crucial to the question of how to live a fulfilling life. Phakchok Rinpoche draws from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition to offer an insightful answer to this question. Dignity is the innate purity of our heart that we naturally possess yet often fail to recognize in ourselves. To move through life with confidence, clarity, and compassion, we need only to access, stabilize, and embody unshakable trust in this inherent nature. Our workshop will be comprised of introductions to the various aspects and stages of dignity along with the meditations Rinpoche teaches called ‘Dignity Training.’…

Accessing the Unconditional Love and Wisdom of our Buddha Nature with Lama John Makransky

With Lama John Makransky

May 3 - 5, 2024
From a Tibetan Buddhist perspective, our Buddha nature is the basic space of our being undivided from vast capacities of awareness, warmth, love, compassion and wisdom. These capacities are always available below our surface consciousness, but often hidden by our habits of self-clinging thought and reaction. One way that Tibetan practitioners start to access them is by bringing to mind the Buddha as an enlightened field of refuge, and experiencing themselves and their whole world as held in the Buddha’s unconditional love, compassion, and wisdom. Other contemplative traditions follow an analogous pattern: being held in the love, compassion, and wisdom…
